today its allready 9 november, a date to remember..
in 1938 the night between 9th and 10th of November, a terrible thing happende in Germany and switzerland. Does the name "Kristalnacht" pogrom ring any bell? the start of the Jewish persecutions.
the Nazis burned 267 synagogs, ruined over 7500 jewish shops and thousands of homes. they arrested between 20 - 30 000 jews, and sent them to Sachsenhausen, Dachau and Buchenwald.
about 100 jews were killed.

several decades later, more exactly in 1989, on the same date, the 9th of November, the history of Germany hit a crucial turningspoint. the fall of the Berlinwall which made the old east and west germany again to a whole country, one unit.
the Berlinwall had earlier been the significant sign of Europe beeing parted in two during the Cold War; one Democratic part and one Communistic part.

so the 9th November is a date you should all remember, and learn other people about. history such as this should not be forgotten.
